Shaoguan Vice Mayor Lai Shaoyu Visits Dongguan for Research

On June 29, Shaoguan Vice Mayor Lai Shaoyu led a team to Dongguan to conduct a special investigation and research on deepening the Dongguan–Shaoguan industrial collaboration and promoting the matching and transformation of scientific and technological innovation achievements. Pang Ran, member of the Shaoguan Municipal Government Party Group and deputy secretary-general, and commander of the Dongguan–Shaoguan Command Headquarters, together with officials from the Command Headquarters, the Shaoguan Municipal Party Committee Organization Department, the Shaoguan Science and Technology Bureau, andGuangdong Omat Advanced Materials Co., Ltd. joined the research.

The research team successively inspected three major scientific-research platforms — the China Spallation Neutron Source, the Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory, and the Dongguan New Energy Research Institute. The two sides held in-depth exchanges on topics such as coordinated breakthroughs on key technologies, resource sharing of innovation platforms, and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and reached a preliminary consensus on further deepening industry–university–research cooperation, optimizing the integration of Greater Bay Area research resources, and promoting the landing of quality projects in Shaoguan.

Lai Shaoyu stated that the Dongguan–Shaoguan paired assistance has entered a new stage of "two-way empowerment." Relying on the scientific-research resource advantages of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, we should actively explore a collaborative innovation model of "Dongguan R&D + Shaoguan manufacturing," and promote the transformation and landing of scientific and technological achievements in new materials, new energy, and other fields in Shaoguan. Relevant departments must closely follow the outcomes of this matchmaking, implement meticulous tracking services, and turn cooperation intentions into concrete projects, injecting technological momentum into the high-quality development of Shaoguan's industries.

Going forward, the Dongguan–Shaoguan Command Headquarters will further play its bridging role, closely connect with Greater Bay Area innovation resources, and strive to have more scientific and technological achievements transformed and landed in Shaoguan, helping Shaoguan accelerate the building of a modern industrial system and pushing the Dongguan–Shaoguan paired assistance and cooperation to go deeper and reach a new level.
