Against the background of global energy transformation, the photovoltaic industry is ushering in a technological revolution. On September 6, 2024, the "2024 HJT Heterojunction Stack Industry Summit" held by SOLARZOOM Optical Storage Yijia and Soochow Securities at the Shangri-La Hotel Pudong, Shanghai attracted the attention of many industry elites. This summit is not only a showcase of technology, but also a benchmark for the future development of the photovoltaic industry.

"New productivity" in the photovoltaic industry

The "new productivity" of the photovoltaic industry refers to those productivity that can promote technological breakthroughs, innovate the allocation of production factors, and promote industrial upgrading. HJT heterojunction technology, with its advantages such as high efficiency, high power and low production costs, is becoming the "new favorite" in the photovoltaic industry.

HJT heterojunction technology: the "red gold" of the photovoltaic industry

HJT heterojunction technology, fully known as heterojunction battery technology, is a new type of solar cell technology. Compared with traditional PERC or TOPCon technology, HJT technology has higher conversion efficiency and lower electricity costs, which makes it attract attention in the photovoltaic industry.

Technological innovation leads industrial upgrading

At this summit, many companies demonstrated their latest progress in the field of HJT heterojunction technology. Huasheng New Energy, Dongfang Risheng and other companies have deployed the field of HJT heterojunction batteries to promote the rapid development of the industry. Maiwei also demonstrated its latest HJT 4.0 production line, which has significant reductions in production capacity, equipment floor area, on-site personnel, equipment power consumption, etc., and non-silicon costs can be reduced by 2.5-3 minutes/W.

Reducing costs and increasing efficiency, HJT heterojunction technology moves towards full profitability

Ma Yiwei, vice president of SOLARZOOM Optical Storage Yijia, pointed out at the summit that the key to achieving full profitability of HJT heterojunction technology lies in cost reduction and efficiency improvement. At present, the mass production conversion efficiency of HJT batteries has exceeded 25.6%, and the power generation per W in medium to high temperature and medium to high ground reflectivity scenarios is more than 3% higher than that of mainstream battery technology. It is estimated that by 2025, the conversion efficiency of HJT batteries will have no less than 0.5% room for improvement. The average component shipment power of mass production is expected to hit 740W +. Production costs will comprehensively exceed mainstream technology routes due to technological innovation.

Indium free targets: another innovation in HJT heterojunction technology

On the road to reducing costs and increasing efficiency, indium-free target technology is also a highlight. Dr. Lu Kuankuan, director of the Oolai New Materials Film Center, shared the progress of indium-free targets at the summit and demonstrated the potential of HJT heterojunction technology in reducing costs and increasing efficiency.
